Seasons Greetings To Everyone
Hi All!
I wanted to come over and wish everyone very Happy Holidays. Since last being here I have unsuccessfully done a few 'diets' that now leaves me at 266 lbs and the heaviest I have ever been ever. I am not happy about this at all but my father has had another heart attack recently (his 2nd) and I feel that my weight and diet pale into insignificance compared to problems other people face in their lives and weight seems very trivial. I am going to do three meals a day over Christmas and New Year because God only knows what food will need to be used up/leftovers there will be. I let myself eat what I like Christmas Day and 28 Dec which is my daughter's birthday. Other than that it will be 3 meals a day all the way. In the New Year I will do vanilla No S but only limit myself to one dessert after the traditional Sunday Roast Dinner. So, Apple Pie and Custard, or Blackberry and Apple Crumble and custard. I am going to start exercising daily as well, because I think it will help me deal with stress better and give me some more energy.
Anyhow,
Seasons' Greetings
Anne

Hello, nice to hear from you. Sorry about your father, and you are of course absolutely right to take it as a warning sign. Sounds like you have a good plan in place, Christmas is a tricky time of year but actually I am looking forward to (hopefully!) being in control for the first time ever! NoS definitely seems do-able over the festive season, I think its just a case of sticking to the plan as much as possible and recognising that is better than no plan!
Good luck and Seaons Greetings to you and all No S-ers!

Excellent time to re-boot your self-care and shoot for those 3 meals a day. If you do that, your weight will slowly but surely come down. This will give you so much more energy - physical and emotional! All the best to you! I'll be here, as most of us will, all through the holidays - so just keep on coming back and posting to let us know how you're doing.

Welcome back, Anne! I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Does he live near you--are you involved in his care? I hope your transition back to NoS goes well!

My Mum and Dad live half an hours drive on the motorway. Merry well done on your loss this year. I watched you start and am mad with myself to not be 2 stones lighter than this time last year like you are.

Thanks. Be gracious to yourself--we're all dealing with different things, and it sounds like your family is going through a lot. Good news is, you can start now .mustloseweight wrote:My Mum and Dad live half an hours drive on the motorway. Merry well done on your loss this year. Anne sorry for your tough times. Sustainable moderation is still your best hope for supporting you in times of stress. When you really get it, the more stress, the MORE likely you'll stick to your plan. (And I still think that "must eat moderately" is a better mantra than "must lose weight.") hugs
