I got some packets of miso soup at the grocery store thinking they would be a great, between meals beverage. However, I opened one up and saw that there were three very small pieces of tofu (smaller than one dice) about a teaspoon of green onion, finely chopped and about a tablespoon of seaweed.
What do you think? Can it just be a "beverage" or should I just enjoy it when I'm eating my meals?

It's not really a beverage so I'd stick with having it at meals. In fact I had miso soup with my lunch the other day. It's not a lot of calories but it's a slippery slope once you start bending the rules.
I like it because it's filling and takes awhile to eat. Do you drink tea or coffee? I like to have some w/ nonfat foamed milk and a little packet of equal between meals.

I don't love the jasmine tea served in many Chinese restaurants and I read that salt cuts bitterness so I have some soy sauce in it. Some teas lend themselves to this. Just keep it to one or two mugs.
