Realization

Post by chickfilafan » Thu Nov 08, 2007 4:18 am

I just found this site through Shovel Glove (which I just started doing today because I thought it was the greatest idea) and was reading some of the posts. I have been wanting to lose some excess fat I have which isn't much but I don't want it. Anyway, I was really close to asking something like "What do you do if you are still hungry after you eat?" and then I remembered "No seconds." I just laughed to myself because that is pretty much my problem. I eat constantly usually because I am bored or am dehydrated. I figure I will just pile up my plate with as much as I think will fill me up and if I don't eat it all good but if I am still hungry I'll just wait a few hours. So, now I guess I am going to become a "No Esser." I love simplicity. :D

Welcome, chickfilafan!

Seconds was actually my biggest problem, pre-nos. Now I wouldn't dream of it. The power of habit is amazing. Once you get it down (and it doesn't take long if you're strict) the sight of an empty place will actually make you feel full. It's like this pavlovian association.

You'll also realize that a little bit of hunger between meals isn't going to kill you. Hunger is like a bratty little kid. Indulge it and it'll keep on whining. Ignore it and it'll shut up.

Hi :)

I'm quite new to No S too, seconds was also my biggest problem, but as Reinhard says, habit is very powerful, it only took a few days for me to get used to not having seconds, which I found very surprising. I now also have better digestion and energy levels which is a bonus. Like you I only need to lose a small amount of weight. I've also been underweight in the past so wanted to find a diet plan that would help me stabilise at a good healthy weight, so I think No S is perfect for that. :)
