New day, new name, let's try again

Post by mama-g » Mon Jan 26, 2009 3:07 pm

:D
I did no-s a few years back and it worked until I fell off the wagon.
Then all the life stuff came in, and food was my drug. I am heavier than I have ever been, life is tougher than its ever been, and as of today, I am fighting back!!

I am not going to be the victim... I know that's always been my choice.
I will not find solace in food or the internet (except to do the necessary)..... that's been my escape.
I will be healthier for me and my family......my girls need a good example.
I will probably fall...... but I WILL get back up.
I will look in the mirror... and be proud, not disgusted.
I will move every day..... even if its hard to do.
I will form new habits.... baby steps :)
I will look forward to watching me transform :!:

Yes, my Son is Richard :)
I'm a lucky Mom! LOL :)
We are both in this together now and encouraging each other!
Here's to a positive new start for all! Just keep your positive mantras going!
They are really good ones!
Keep at it and don't worry if it take a bit of time. This is not a fad diet, you know that.
Start up a Habitcal for NoS and try to be strict on N day. Strictness really does help it be easier.
Love

You sound as if you're off to a good start! (And you've got the right attitude about picking yourself up when you fall!)

Go, Mama G, and best wishes!

Welcome back!

I have also started and stopped a few (ok, about 5) times.

The good news is that we're back!

Welcome back.

You have taken the hard step - coming back and admitting to your self where you have gone wrong.

Now you can stop beating yourself up and move forward slowly day by day.

Hey Mama-g

We are in Gauteng (in an area right next to the airport).

My folks are from the UK, but I am a born and bred South African and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Africa is in my blood.

How long did it take you to settle and adjust to the US?

Have a great N Day

Janie, I am encouraged that you are encouraged. :)
Sometimes we all need a lift, hey?

Mo, Africa will always be in my blood, its true. The plan was to take a year off between studies, and go back with new vision and new energy. That was 10 years ago, this January 18th. What I did not factor into that plan was that I would meet my husband. We'll be married for 9 years next week, and have 3 beautiful girls aged almost 6 (sunday), 4 and 6 months.
I was homesick for about 2 years... really bad. Then I got used to it. My family and I got used to being apart,a nd now just enjoy the times we CAN be together. I have this funny feeling one of my girls is going to take that trip to SA some day to visit Granny and Pa, and call and say, Mummy... I've met someone. Payback!!

My husband loves SA,and we try to get back when we can. I am hoping things will work out for me to go in October... my brother gets married then.

Happy N day to you all!

Carmel

Welcome back, mama-g!

It sounds like you're coming back with some serious motivation. I'm impressed!

I don't know if the habitcal was around last time you were here -- I and a lot of others here have found that very useful for getting and STAYING on the wagon.

Reinhard

Thanks Reinhard for the encouragement.

No, I don't believe habitcal was around, and its nice to have a visual reminder of how its going.

I'm hoping to stay on the wagon this time... prepared for whatever may come, and my husband's hoping to join me too!! It's just a sensible way to do it.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!!
