And I've lost five pounds. I'm always amazed by how this process works. It's helpful, I think, that I can still eat (mostly) whatever I want. I can still have coffee, I can still eat tasty soups, etc etc.
Hopefully I can keep this up.

Congratulations! It's really pretty simple to understand and implement.
"That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do. Not that the nature of the thing itself has changed but our power to do it is increased." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I second the tasty soups bit! I have some roast chunks simmering away in a pot of water right now. It's my first soup, so I'm hoping for the best. But I REALLY love the smell. I wonder if I can add more water to it, as most of it evaporated. Oh well. Another 50 minutes until I can add all the other goodies. Yum! (hopefully).
And congrats on the weight drop. Keep it up, and keep it simple. Whoop!

Hilly, if you'll accept some advice:
Let that soup cook down, chile! Unless you're in danger of boiling the pot dry, letting it cook down concentrates the goodness.
