Most excellent, Blueskighs! Very exciting to see such a dramatic change in two months!
When I first saw your name, for some reason I thought it was Blue Thighs. I kind of pictured you as a cartoon character with lovely chubby thighs that were bright blue! Then I realized it was more of a clear sailing Blue Skies reference! LOL!

CrazyCatLady,
Thank you and please imagine me all you want as a cartoon characters with "lovely" chubby blue thighs ! I love that!
Reinhard,
the "one plate meals" and "S day Sweets" are indeed very conducive to photos , from the feedback that I have gotten on them, it would seem that a user contributed photo gallery would be somthing people would use and love!
I guess you can tell I am pretty "fond" of your ingenius program! Thank you for stopping by and congratulating.

fkwan and Tink,
THANK YOU!
Irish,
lets see I have anywhere between about 11 and 2 pounds to go. I am 5'3" what I am really going for is 20% body fat so whatever weight that is I will be good. My trainer thinks it will take about 6 months. I suspect my weight by then will be somewhere between 115 and 124. My trainer sketched it out as a 10 pound fat loss and a 6 pound muscle gain. However there is some room for error in measuring body fat so you know however it works out. I am at 26.4% body fat right now. Which is good/average/acceptable ... I would like to become LEAN
Mavilu,
I am glad my pictures make you happy I have a lot of fun taking them,

irish,
that is great that you are in such good shape! lean does seem like such a healthy goal. of everything that I have studied and read, resistance training is the best defense against aging. I think I will keep it and No S up and let the little pouches and pooches be ok
DXB1605,
thank you for your kind words, they are much appreciated.

I'm back and successfully noSing. Now I'm off again to celebrate my 47th wedding anniversary - thankfully it falls on a Sunday, so I can really celebrate. I am amazed - right now I only weigh 3 lbs. more than when I was married. But No S has really helped with that. For many years I really obsessed about food. Now after several months on No S, I feel comfortable with food. It used to be the biggest thing in my life, what I thought about first thing in the a.m. Now, food is just a meal, and one that I REALLY enjoy. Here's to another year on No S.

Today is 60 days for me, too. I have only had one major deviation, which I have already written about. Fortunately, it only lasted one afternoon. I am not sure how much I have lost because the two scales that I am used to have both been recalibrated improperly and don't seem to be accurate. My clothes are fitting better, I am very encouraged that my new habits are taking hold, and I thank everyone here for the encouragement and support you give me.

Mainly, I just want to feel less tired. I don't think I could go vegetarian - my hubby's a meat & potatoes man and it would be really difficult. Sometimes I think I need more protein - I make a lot of pasta dishes with veggies - and wonder if that's why I'm tired. I do find it hard to eat enough fruit & veggies without snacking. Have you read the book, Super Foods Rx? I just can't fit all the foods into my diet.

irish,
I don't think you have to be vegetarian to be healthy.
Do you eat many beans, legumes? I think maybe complex carbs might be helpful.
which are basically fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes.
beans are really good and there are a lot of ways to add them. Lentil soups are REALLY good, I have fallen away but am going to start eating more again this week.
what kind of foods do you enjoy? you said your husband is meat and potatoes you can eat smaller portions of meat and more potatoes and vegetables,
you said you are eating pasta and veggies, you could sub whole grain pasta if you are using white flour, or have some kind of beans instead of pasta... cause beans have the fiber and protien...
does any of that sound appealing?

I've tried ww pasta - I really like white better, but am now trying to mix it half & half. I do like beans, and we have some form just about once a week. I haven't done much with lentils. And I do like ww bread.
When I posted over the weekend I was really disgusted with myself. It was an s day, and I was going way overboard with the sweets and feeling very stuffed and headachey - kind of like a hangover. Really, my weekends are much more of a problem than my unhealthy eating, even though I could do a little better there. I feel like Jekyl & Hyde (sp?) - good during the week and a monster on the weekends. Today, I'm looking forward to Sat. with all kinds of good resolutions, such as no sweets, but when Sat. comes, I'm afraid I'll turn into my "other" self.
I really appreciate your posts. I've never done anything like this before and you're really helpful.

irish,
you are so funny. I find it just takes a few good recipes to get me going.
I guess I suggested the beans because I think with the fiber and protein and complex carb combo they are so good for satisfaction and blood sugar. I think sometimes the blood sugar roller coaster has been what has triggered binging for me in the past. I notice that when I eat beans/legumes several times a week, things kind of "settle down".
when you mix the white and wheat pasta together do you notice any difference? mostly through the years I have just tried to notice how stuff makes me feel after I eat it? i.e. do I want to go out and do something or do I want to fall asleep

Thanks for the advice - I'm going to try adding beans & legumes 2x a week for a few weeks and see what happens. I do know that during the week I feel pretty good while on the weekends I feel lousy. Does that keep me from eating crazy? NO, but at least it's down to the weekends and not all week long. This weekend I think I'll try no snacking, but will have seconds if I want and dessert and see how that goes.
