Re: No S Diet on TV
How exciting! Congratulations, Reinhard.reinhard wrote:Now I can write "As seen on TV!"
Wow! How exciting!
I did a little googling, and the report is from Channel 7 News in Denver. Which makes sense with the mountains in the background on the TV set.
Congrats, Reinhard!
Have a great day!

Haha!!!! Awesome!!!!
Great to get exposure Reinhard!!
Congratulations!!!!
I really wish that dietician hadn't misrepresented what NoS is really about when she said the thing about restricting during the week and then *splurging* on the weekends, but oh well, let the real NoS audience make up their minds on that one
The ones who were meant for NoS will "get it" and don't need to be sold.
I hope you have been well my friend. I'm really sorry I've been absent on the boards. Been thinking of you often tho Rein!
Hope you and your family are having a great Summer so far!

Not exactly a raving review
During the introduction the newscasters dismiss "no sweets and no snacks" as something they couldn't do and the "expert" says depriving yourself for a time to splurge later isn't a healthy mindset. This isn't exactly a raving review of the system. Am I missing something?

No, I'd say you aren't missing anything.
NoS really isn't for everyone.
It takes real commitment and it either resonates as right for you or not.
Obviously they didn't feel they'd be able to do it, but let's face it, this is not a diet that people will jump on the bandwagon just because of some fluffy advert, or good or bad review by any one newscaster about the latest fad.
It's hard work, to change bad habits and not everyone is gonna wanna really face that fact dead on.
But whatever they said about it, it's still major exposure and the more people who hear "The NoS diet" the better.
I'm still waiting for Reinhard to be on Oprah

"Any publicity is good publicity," right?
I've not yet reached the point where I can roll my eyes at precisely how my stuff has been portrayed on television. I look forward to seeing something by people who have actually read the book (or the site), but for now, this is great
Thanks for dropping by again, Deb! We're doing pretty well -- a little chronically overtired, but happy. Hope all is well with you and Richie.

huh...
Yeah, that nutritionist should read the book before she makes the assumption that every S Day is a food orgy. I also was amused at how she acted as if it were really difficult to go without snacks. Oh, God, what would become of us if we couldn't permasnack?
Puh-lease.
I have no idea about some people.
Oh well, at least it is exposure.

I've always looked at the No S diet as an American "franco" diet. The French, on average, eat 3 meals a day, rarely snack (and if they do, it's something like fruit), and walk a lot (urban rangering). It works for them and it should work for us. I know for a fact that probably half of my calorie intake comes from mindless snacking from the free snack cabinet at work, which is absolutely horrible.
So, if it's "too hard" to give up sweets and snacks, I guess you'd better get used to being fat, or resign yourself to spending hours in the gym. A personal trainer discussed it with me for awhile and basically said: "The easiest way to burn off 500 calories is to not eat it to begin with". I've taken that to heart
