Insulin Resistance

Post by Brent_Corkins » Thu Apr 15, 2010 1:01 am

Hi! Long time no post. My Pc caught a bad virus and is in shop. I have been diagnosed with being pre-diabetic and insulin resistant. My Dr. suggested the IRdiet it is a great book and very applicable to No s, basically you link your "starchy carbs from Breads ,Pasta, Corn, Potatoes and some fruit with a 2 to 1 ratio with protein. For every 14 gram of starchy carbs with 7 grams of lean protein. And no carbs at all with in 2 hours of eating. And can eat as much protein to feel full. May have to add 4th meal so not to go more than 5 hours with out eating. I have been doing this for a bit and I am seeing some good results and feeling alot better. And it is not really not that hard. you starchy carbs are all you have to count. So if you are having a hard time with losing weight and have insulin problems should check it out. IRdiet.com

Did you mean no carbs at all within 2 hours of sleeping?

this sounds interesting. I will check it out, though I don't have the health issue.

Sorry, I was really tired when I posted this. It is horribly written and I apologize. Not I meant after eating a meal , you do not want to eat any more carbs in a two hour window after that meal. The Theory is that those carbs in the period are turned to fat.

I guess I was confused because since we eat only 3 meals a day, we won't be eating carbs or anything else within two hours of a meal. If you have to eat 4x a day, I see how you could get affected.
