So before starting NO-S I tried the Leptin Diet which has the same premise as No-S but you have to go 5-6 hours between meals and there are no special days. If you want something sweet, you just put it on your plate and make room for it. The author recommends more protein in the diet and also suggests a heck of a lot of supplements. In addition he has a fast-track plan of protein shakes and fibre. If the 3 plates works, why do we need a fast track. Sorry getting off track... I just wanted to say that the No_S plan is a lot simpler and I like that I have weekends to look forward to.
I found I could only do a week or so on it because it feels like a diet because there are restrictions. I will end up going about 5 hours between meals on No-S anyways but The Leptin Diet mandates it and I find once you have to follow a plan to the letter like that I rebel and fall off.
Has anyone else had this experience with The Leptin Diet and had more success with the No-S plan?
This is way better than The Leptin Diet

To be honest, I'm probably eating more like the leptin diet right now, than I am like No S (except I don't think I'd go for all of the extra supplements and stuff). I usually go 5-6 hours between meals, I eat 3 meals a day, and if I do have something sweet, I make sure it fits onto my plate. I'm curious to see if anybody has switched from Leptin to No S.

Three plates works, but it usually works pretty slowly. It's not unusual for someone to initially go a couple of weeks or a month without weight loss and it continues to be slower than most weight loss plans. However, it also tends to be more permanent weight loss. What you do to lose weight is what you do to maintain the weight loss.gettheweightoff wrote:If the 3 plates works, why do we need a fast track.

There are a lot of people who want to lose weight quickly, for whatever reason. There are any number of diets that advertise "lose X pounds in Y days" directed at these people.wosnes wrote:Three plates works, but it usually works pretty slowly. The problem with this, of course, is that whatever you do to lose that weight quickly is not something that most people could sustain over a long period of time. They do the diet, then stop, and the weight of course comes back.
No S, on the other hand, is for people who have read the Tortoise and the Hare, and who know that weight loss is best thought of as a marathon, not a sprint. It's for people who want to lose weight and develop good habits to be healthier in the long-term, not to lose a few vanity pounds in time for a class reunion or swimsuit season.
