question about juicing

Post by glimmergrrl » Thu Jan 27, 2011 10:26 pm

ok so I am new here and I have been looking through the old posts. One post had mentioned that if you ABSOLUTELY HAD to put somthing in your gut between meals, it would be ok to have a glass of milk or juice. I was at the store today and was going to pick up some V-8 to have on hand just in case I found myself in that situation. BUT my doctor has been on me to cut out as much sodium as possible cuz my BP is sky high....so, instead of getting the V-8 I picked up some beautiful organic carrots and kale. I have a juicer and have made this combo before and find it to be quite delicious (no, really!) AND it is very high in iron and calcium, 2 nutrients I have a lot of trouble getting the RDA (I also take Rx vitamins)...so, my question to you experienced nosdieters, is this homemade juice concoction ok to drink between meals if needed?
TIA

Yes, homemade juice is most certainly okay between meals if you MUST have something.

Hey Noel, thanks for the super-quick reply :D
How did your class go? What do you teach? (I have a bunch of teachers in my family, Goddess bless em--I couldn't do it, don't have the patience)
I thought that the homemade juice would be ok, certainly lower in cals that fruit juice, and full of health-giving nutrients.
Enjoy your spaghetti!
