Freakonomics blog post about shovelglove

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Hey everyone,
I'm a new NoS-er and Shovelglover. I actually found the site through that very Freakonomics post.

As they said in the post, I like the approach Reinhart has with these sites. It resonates with what I think.

But yeah, been on NoS since last week. Took all my snack foods home from work last Friday, never to return, and bought an 8 pound sledgehammer at the SuperMegaAwesome WalMart this weekend. This morning felt just as good as a much longer session at the gym lifting.

Welcome, CipherSwarm.

I'm honored to have been noticed there, but, man, tough crowd, those commenters!

No kidding! That Chrisbryan guy who posted that screed about "natural" workouts needs to take a breath.
