My first time shovelgloving.

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

My first time shovelgloving.

Post by DoubleBitAxe » Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:48 pm

This morning I accidentally stumbled onto a youtube video of this madman swinging a sledgehammer around with a sweater tied around the head. I then spent the next hour or two reading everything I could find on "shovelgloving." I've spent my whole life looking for something like this. What I can't seem to figure out is how I never thought to do this before. The moment I decided I had read every possible thing about SG google could find, I got up, went to home depot, and bought a 10# sledge. I wrapped it in an extralarge t-shirt I had been given (honestly, do they expect me to wear a shirt that I could fit in twice) and I was off. Anyways, my back and shoulders ache right now. I've never been more pleased about a workout. Thank you Mr. Engels.

Welcome! I'm glad the madman video didn't scare you away!

It stays fun, even years into it. You just have be disciplined enough to take that first swing every morning.

Keep us posted,

Reinhard
