Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

As an over-60 female, I am really enthused about my new routine with a 6 lb hammer. Starting out easy as I don't want to strain anything. My new Omron heart rate monitor gives extra encouragement. Thanks, Reinhard!

Welcome, barbarag!
Thank you for easing into it! It is much more strenuous than most people seem to think it's going to be. I keep having to add more bold red disclaimers to the home page
Best of luck and let us know how it goes,
Reinhard
