I don't use a SG for every strength training workout, but do from time to time.
Honestly, I used to think it was the "wuss" option.... *hangs my head in shame*.
For the record?
It's not the wuss option.
I SGed on Sunday because I didn't wanna go out in public. I was still feeling it a little (especially in my biceps) on Tuesday when I went to do my usual weights.
This says two things to me: SG is a great strength training option, not a "lesser" or "something is better than nothing, loserish" option. Lord love you no! It's a good, solid workout in and of itself.
The second is that I really need to put in more time on bicep work!

Yeah, it may be a little weird, which may prompt some people to shug covertly, but it's hard, there's no shame to be felt on that score. I think people consistently underestimate it because of both the (charming) goofiness and the fact that it doesn't feel that heavy -- until you start swinging it.
