14 year old shovelglover loses 20 lbs in 3 months

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

14 year old shovelglover loses 20 lbs in 3 months

I received the following email last week (and permission to anonymously quote it):
I am just 14 years old but I still love the shovel glove :P My dad and myself were playing catch one day and I decided to try out for my high school’s baseball team so I wanted to get a good workout to lose some weight and I asked him if I could go to a gym or something, but all he said was- “I got something better.†So I followed him into the garage sitting there was a sledgehammer. Now, of course I was confused, but my dad said, “Just do as I say.†So I did. He told me about the shoveling motions and the other useful things on your website. Now, at first I thought this was ridiculous!! I am throwing a sledgehammer around a 41 year old man. I’m probably going to kill someone, but as the time grew forward I started to sweat…. A LOT, and I realized, “Hey, I am getting a really great workout!†So I asked my dad what I was doing and he said “Shovelglove.com†So I went there… here, and started looking at all the workouts for this thing. I looked at the schedule you used and, since I was on summer vacation, I could not find a better time to start working out. So I did, and now, 3 months later I lost 20 pounds! It’s awesome. So, since this thing works so well I wanted to send you an e-mail telling you how much I love it. Thank you so much.
Pretty cool, huh?

IMPORTANT NOTE TO OTHER KIDS CONSIDERING SHOVELGLOVE: FOLLOW THIS EXAMPLE AND MAKE SURE TO RUN IT BY YOUR DAD FIRST. READ ALL THE WARNINGS AND DISCLAIMERS ON THE HOME PAGE ABOUT HOW DANGEROUS SWINGING AROUND A SLEDGEHAMMER CAN BE. USE COMMON SENSE. EVEN IF YOU DON'T SUE ME, I WILL FEEL VERY, VERY GUILTY IF YOU INJURE YOURSELF. SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO.
