STOKED

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

STOKED

Post by Terrylynne » Mon Apr 28, 2008 5:46 pm

Hey all I just joined the nos disfunctional family lol. I have alot of back problems so I was concerned about the shovelglove workout. That and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend money on something that if it didn't work out, I had no real use for afterwards. So here I am vacuuming this morning and I'm looking at my cannister vacuum's attachments, the power nozzle and metal hose piece weigh 7lbs. and I did my first sg workout. When my strenght increases I will be at my hardware store buying what will become a useful tool, but for now I'm stoked to be able to try out the excercises.

You have 2 ears and 1 mouth, do twice as much listening as talking.

Welcome, Terrylynne!

Trying out the moves with a broom or a vacuum cleaner is a great idea. It's safe, it's cheap (free!), and you can start on the really hard and important part immediately: building habit.

Best of luck and let us know how it goes,

Reinhard
