Crystal's 3 Squares

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Crystal's 3 Squares

Post by CMThib82 » Mon May 28, 2012 2:29 pm

Well I took a break to finish finals and get my kids on the GAPS diet. One has autism, 4, and the other has allergies, 9.

So we are on GAPS and the food is FATTENING and delicious.

I have put on a solid 2 pounds-- but that is ok. Just have to get back to 3 meals though I will be limited in the foods I can have.

So I would wager (my scale broke so I am not sure) I weigh around 121. I do want to weigh 110 by my birthday December 3. I am turning 30!!!

I know this works, I started losing when I tried it. So here goes.

Since the foods on GAPS are so high calorie I am going to keep it to small square plates.

I am only weighing in once a month so I will buy a scale and weigh June 3rd again.

1. small plate---Small Coconut Pancake with blueberries, 2 pieces of bacon, 1 fried egg.
Kombucha Tea

2 -- Coffee w/ 2 tbsp. Heavy Whipping Cream

2. medium plate---2 Boiled Eggs, Two small steak w/ a ton of veggies cooked in coconut oil on a bed of spinach.

3. small plate---Brisket/Sauteed Cabbage/Grilled Yellow Squash

B: Yogurt w/ blueberries. Half a plate of carrots.

Kombucha Tea

D: Flounder/3 boiled eggs/small butternut squash/1 cup carrots

Had to quit coffee - was giving me terrible heart burn.

B: 4 Fried Eggs/2 Bacon
Kombucha Tea

L: Blueberry and coconut pancakes with honey

D: Round Roast and 1/2 avocado

I have been eating breakfast early - then a sort of brunch - with dinner around 1 or 2 pm. This works well since I am not hungry at night, but starving during the day.

Still having some unbelievable heart burn. I wish I could figure it out. May have to drop the tea out. booo hoo

I don't have a scale at the moment and I am thinking as long as I am staying on track I will not weigh until the end of the summer when I go back to school. It would be nice to not think about my weight everyday.

Workouts: I only workout 2 days a week right now. I teach a class and then I am doing heavy weights right after the class.

It has been nice not thinking about what I weigh each morning. I am really thinking of doing away with the scale all together. I lift heavy weights so it isn't a good detector anyways.

B: Blueberry/Coconut Pancakes w/ Honey
Tea w/ honey

L: Butternut Squash/Flounder

That's all - been eating more like 2 meals lately - I eat a big lunch that I count for two meals and don't usually eat supper - because I go to bed pretty early.

I guess I will just start measuring once a month to see if I am making changes. I will wait until I have a month on here and measure then.
