Daisy's back again

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Daisy's back again

Post by Daisy » Mon Feb 12, 2007 5:35 pm

Hi everyone

Haven't been here for a while (not since last August) so I am now starting all over - have strayed and tried other diets, but dieting just doesn't work for me (I don't consider No S a diet really as no foods are banned or labelled as bad etc.). Have put on a few pounds so need to lose them and some more!

Current statistics - weight 164lbs

So here goes:

Day 1 - success

Breakfast - Shreddies with skimmed milk

Lunch - wholemeal pitta bread with salad, tuna, grated cheese and sweetcorn

Dinner - Baked potato with tuna, sweetcorn, and cottage cheese

Are you eating enough? This doesn't sound like many calories.

Welcome back!

Hi thanks for the welcome back. I think I'm eating enough, as I'm not feeling hungry and I'm not having dainty little portions, I am definately filling my plate!!!

This week hasn't been usual as its school holidays here in the UK and I am out of my usual routine - hence the cereal for breakfast and dinner on Tuesday - I had lots of my daughters friends round for the day and by the time I got my lunch it was 3pm, I then had to go to work at 6pm and by the time I got home at 9:30 i was feeling hungry but could't be bothered to cook, I didn't want to blow the whole day by having anything sweet and decided the cereal was a reasonably safe option.
