Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for).   • No S - FAILED, ate lunch too early so dinner was early, so I snacked on junk food at night :(

  • No S - FAILED, Given a small box of chocolates at school and I ate them :x I've also been eating absurds amount of peanut butter. Maybe my body wants more protein since I am making muscle from shugging?

When I first started No-S, I needed a very small fourth meal. After I got acclimated, I dropped it.

The habit is what is important. Consider this modification rather than setting yourself up for failure.

Thanks for the tip Kevin. I have had some issues going on that made me binge on comfort food. I know I can do it because I did it over the weekend but these pass few days my family has driven me more crazy than usual and the candy was my escape from them. I'll get back on track once this bad luck passes.

I haven't checked in in a week. I think my self-diagnosed A.D.D. is starting to take over. I am starting to get bored with shugging which sucks because I did really enjoy it at first.

I noticed back muscles a couple days after first starting and have been able to go longer each time I shugg. So far I haven't gotten to 14 minutes because I my arms feel like jelly and can't lift my sledge. I am going to keep doing it and try to keep marking my habitcal so I can see when I fail and hopefully wont like seeing red on it.

Anyway, this past week I was pretty good. The only day I didn't shug was yesterday and that was because I got up at 7:00am to go to Best Buy to by my new 500gb external hard drive for $100. I shugged today to make up for that. I didn't ride my Tuesday and Friday because I didn't have class and that's when I usually ride it. I've been riding it for at least a mile each day since maybe mid september and unfortunately I my legs still get tired after a few minutes. I was good this week for NoS though. So that was good.

So far I haven't weighed myself since starting NoS because I haven't gone to Publix and I don't have a scale at home. I know my back and arms have gotten more muscular which is good. I need to ride my bike more so I can hopefully burn the fat that is on my stomach.

This is now probably going to turn into a workout diary for me because I don't feel like posting the way I did before.

I started doing a few different exercises with the shovelglove. One is a punch the other is a squat. Punching with the shovelglove is pretty hard. I can only do 5. I still haven't done a whole 14 minutes. Mainly, because my arms feel like jelly. I know I could go though. Maybe tomorrow I'll make myself.

I'm know I'm not having seconds, sweets, or snacks but I also noticed these past few days I haven't been eating at least 3 meals. The problem I have with this is I may not be eating enough. I've also been sick so maybe that's why I don't know.

Still haven't made it to Publix to weigh myself. Hopefully I will weigh less. But I am gaining lots of muscle so who knows.
