Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Good Morning, this is the first time I have checked in, and day three of this new adventure, weighted in this morning just to see how things are going, down two pounds... i'm sure thats not the norm, and not what to expect every week, prob. water and new way loss, but still 2 lbs less, not more and I'll take it. so far this has been so easy, ok well maybe not totally easy.. darn track meet last night was tough, we always snack between heats, but I drank my water and got through it just fine. have not slipped once so far so we will see how long I can do this, ya'll have a great and blessed day... KEEP NO S"ING

Good for you! It's been 3 days for me ( no counting today yet) and so far no slip ups either. I really am getting alot of encouragement from the podcast. Try listening to them everyday, they are getting me through the hard times. Like last night I got hungry after dinner. Well I listened to the podcast abouth the HabitCal and how satisfying it is to see those green squares that I was able to go to bed a little hungry.
