Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Hi Debbie,
I am new to No S also. i started on the weekend with S days! today is harder. I have come up with some no S's of my own. How about: No sofa!
No slacking, and to be proud of who I am : NO slouching! i didn't realize when i cook that I am sooo much of a taster. Gotta stop that! I read the book in my free time last week. Very helpful. Hope I can figure out these message boards and calendar. I am not very computer savvy. Guess that's all for now.
See ya,
ffl- fatfarmlady
Do your best and God will take care of the rest!

Hi FFL and Debbie,
Glad to have you both on board.
Just wanted to point out that this particular forum is mostly devoted to people doing their own "daily check in" threads. So, general comments may get more traffic on the discussion board.
It's not a problem that you posted here or anything like that - I'm not trying to be "board police"! You just may get more replies on the main discussion forum. There's a lot of new folks just starting now, so a lot of discussion.
Again, welcome.

Hello, I'm Linda and today is my first day on the program. It was really hard this morning but this afternoon is waaaay better. I'm a Crystal Light drinker, don't care for coffee or tea. Is Crystal Light a beverage I should save for an S day or is it allowed during the week? Any response would be greatly appreciated
