ladybird's check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

I bet you miss all your social groups! And I'm sure all your friends miss your enthusiastic and supportive presence, as well!

Interesting you said you need to cut down on the fatty foods. LOL, that's exactly what I have to face - for me, it's massive quantities of cream in my coffee everyday that I think might be causing me to gain weight. Ugh. I hate being hungry and I think the only solution is to have a little hunger sometimes. Sigh.

Thanks for the kind words Auto.

Yes, calories still count. I also hate being hungry, but I pick my battles and find being hungrier earlier in the day much easier to tolerate
than later. So I don't usually have my first meal til late morning.

Some restrictions have just been lifted here, so I can now visit my friend's homes for garden working bees. Yayyy!
Three meals a day - not too little not too much, but just right

Monthly update:

May

26 days: 3 meals a day
5 days: unplanned snacks

The effect of cutting back a bit on the extra fat at mealtimes was to make me hungrier & lead to unplanned snacking.
Net effect on my weight - zero as far as I can tell

Weight still sitting between 140 and 142.

Still exercising. My hiking group has resumed with shorter walks. No car pooling, so all walk are in the local forests, of which we have quite a lot.

For June I will be concentrating on 3 meals a day. I want to get that base line solid.
