Day one is gone and nearly so day two & how to stop snac

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Day one is gone and nearly so day two & how to stop snac

Hi,
Well, yesterday, my day one was not bad at all. Now and then I got this urge to eat as I was eating all day long before. Maybe carrot sticks or fruit but still I always had to eat something....so I kind of have to break that habit of mine.
When the urge came, I just had sparkling Mineral water and this has saved me again today.
I had my three plate meals, no snacks, no sweets and survived quite well
IN FACT....I lost some weight already, but that is surely a bonus as I am expecting a slow weightloss seen that I do not have to lose a lot
I came away from any promise to lose fast, it just does not work that way. Even if I lose 2 lbs a month now AND KEEP IT OFF I am happy.
I also started to do the shovel and other Reinhart exercises but with a broom as I have no shovel yet...working on it.
It felt like an easy day...not like a diet day at all. It freed my mind not to have to think all the time what I can and would eat, now I just go on with live...
Today is Saturday = an S -day, but I only started yesterday and decided to keep the S-Day for really special days as days when I really want to break my routine or when I am invited out.
No more special prepared meals for me....I most have been the least liked client in any restaurant because of all my special requirements.....for the first time in my live, I feel normal.....what a pleasure!
Thanks Reinheart :P
One day at the time
