Avatar's ?

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

How do you pick and put an avatar under you name?

You find an avatar image you like using Google.

You save the image to your computer.

You click on the 'Profile' button up there ... near the top of this page, on the left ... to change your profile ...

There's a place where you can select the avatar image you saved on your machine earlier .... presto.

Cheers !

Marc ;-)

But...they have to be the right size! Most of the ones that I found that I really liked were too big. I did find one site that allowed you to resize the avatars.

sizing your avatar

Post by la_loser » Sun May 17, 2009 1:30 am

You can also save the avatar to your own computer then resize/compress the file to a really small size ( 6 k is the size it has to be to work on the No S site.)
I resized mine using Microsoft Picture Manager/edit function. . . . had to compress-then save then compress again several times to get it small enough!

If you get an avatar from a web site it might be close to the right size to begin with. But if you use a real picture or logo, etc. it will probably need resizing.

Good luck!

I've been using the same avatar for years, The Black wolf. ;-)
I never had any problems.

Make sure to look for an avatar that is the right size for this site and it should work out fine.

Cheers, Camper !
