Jon's Check in...

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Jon's Check in...

Post by Over43 » Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:43 pm

Failure today. Breakfast was good.

Lunch not so, had a doughnut and a Coke. (Why you ask? It was there...)

Dinner should be better, salt pork on white beans, salad, and club soda.

So, I will redeem myself tonight.

Excerise, have a SuperSlow sesssion planned. Then a sauna.

OK,

I want to lose 5 pounds in July. That's my goal.

Success. And for dinner, which was a bit late: fruits salad, two slices of French bread and club soda.

Got my SuperSlow workout in this morning. Felt nauseated, either from not eating, or from my bp meds. We'll see how today's eating adventure goes, but, my body fat% is under 20%, around 15 I believe. I'll be back tonight for S or F.

Success.

Also, I have been doing daily Steel Bow 28 (A smaller version of the traditional Bullworker) workouts. So, my tonus is increasing as well. I also add wallsits to that.

Today, so good so far.

Breakfast: eggs, bacon, some Italian bread with olives and spices mixed in, all on one plater. Got a Steel Bow workout in. That felt excellent.

Lunch, planning a protein drink about 1:00 PM. Dinner tonight in West Yellowstone. Salad, steak, and a yam if I can get one. Plus club soda works well at the restaurant scene.
