Beefsister's daily check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Beefsister's daily check in

Post by Beefsister » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:21 am

Hello all! This is my first post ever, and I'm new to these forums. Thought this would be a good way to keep myself from cheating. Having to be accountable for what I eat should help me keep on track.

I weigh about 140 (I weighed 145 when I weighed myself just now, but it's night time and I've just eaten a large dinner, so whatever) pounds at 5'6, and would like to go down to about 125. I've been doing low carb on and off for a few weeks now, and while the scale isn't budging too much, I'm definitely slimming down, as I can now fit into my size 7's, which would be a 6 in woman's, I believe, and my size 8's (in woman's) feel loose.

I would call today a definite success, although I did skip breakfast, which is a habit I probably shouldn't get into. I felt stuffed right after eating dinner, but an hour later, I felt hungry again. I feel pretty darn hungry right now, but I guess I'll just wait until morning to eat. I really haven't felt like cheating at all on this diet, which is odd since I'm a total pig XD

I'll have to eat more or something, as fitday says I'm only at about 1600 calories, which is too low for me. From today henceforth, I shall make an effort to get at least 2,000 calories in, and see how that works out for me.
Remember, you are special, just like everybody else.
