Me: somewhere between 25 and 30 lbs (depending on the day), over a period of a little more than 2 years. I still have about 10-15 to go before I consider myself somewhere close to "ideal".
It seems like somebody asks this question again every now and then, but I never get tired of answering. _________________ Before criticizing someone, you should try walking a mile in their shoes. Then you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
Hi JoAnn! Glad you found your way here! Well, i just finished up my first week on No-s....i just came back to it after being off plan for awhile, anyway i haven't had any signifigant loss yet of course but i have noticed that i have not gained at all this week and may have even lost a little (official weigh in is Tuesday)....and i feel so much better physically, like i am actually able to listen to my body and am getting used to the "normal" hunger signals rather than just giving in to the "snackies".
sorry i can't be more help, but stick around and i'm sure you'll hear more results. _________________ ***GRINS***

It took me a couple months to lose 20 pounds, and the rest of the year (plus exercise) to lose the remaining 20.
I'm going to have to put together a "testimonials" page... this question (rightly!) gets asked all the time, and not all of our big losers are as keen (or tuned in) as Navin to keep repeating themselves. Of course, there's no guarantee by any stretch that people who've lost a bunch of weight will keep it off forever, so nothing can ever quite replace incessantly repeating this question here. Still, a testimonials page would be a good supplement, and it seems to be about as obligatory as the "before and after." I'm surprised I got away without one for so long...
I'll be sifting through the bulletin board some more tonight for some more starter testimonials, but please feel free to email me or post here if you would rather I use/not use something in particular. I like the idea of taking stuff from the bulletin board (I'll link back to all the original posts in context when I get a chance) instead of traceless, prompted blurbs, but let me know if you feel otherwise, in general or in particular.
Looking forward to adding your testimonial there, JoAnne,
I've been doing No-S since last June. I don't know my exact starting weight, but my best guess is that I'm down about 40 or 50 pounds since then. I still have a long way to go (probably at least 75 more pounds), but after 8 months I'm smaller than I've been in well over a decade, my belt has a half-dozen new notches cut into it, I have more energy, and I don't get as tired.
Perhaps more importantly, my relationship with food has been repaired. I now know what it is to enjoy food, both while I'm actually eating it, and when the act of eating it lingers in my memory. No more binge-guilt cycles. No more "I shouldn't be eating this...." I just follow the rules, and enjoy the abundance of tasty, nutritious food in my life. _________________ JWL[.|@]Freakwitch[.]net

Since June, about 20 pounds, but most of that in the first three months.
At this point, I'm closing in on my ideal weight (probably another 10 or so). Before I started resistance exercise, I had actually weight about five pounds less. I might not make it all the way down to my ideal weight given that I eat whatever non-sweet, one plate meal I want, three times a day.
When you stop and think about it, by world standards, that's still a pretty generous amount of food.
At 46, I'm 10 pounds over what I graduated college at, and I'm significantly stronger, although I know I couldn't run as far or as fast as I could then.
Do it. You'll love it. _________________ Kevin
