21 Day Club
Hi--I finally got 21 days in! I've cut way back on oil, so that helped keep me on track because when I've tried in the past, I'd maybe get 10-14 days in and see no change on the scale and then screw up--pretty silly, I know. But I think I knew that even though I was eating three meals of mostly fruit and vegetables and beans, I was using too much oil on my salad and in cooking--especially the wonderful sesame oil. So now I am three weeks in and I've lost three pounds--which is cool with me because I had been gaining crazily for nearly a year. I've been breastfeeding for nearly three and my metabolism has shifted. I was eating way more two years ago and weighed nearly thirty pounds less! It's as if I was burning like crazy, then after my daughter turned two, my body wanted to hold on. But whatever happens, it's nice to be on the sane NoS train. I'd love to lose, but if I can just keep from gaining and keep from obsessing about food, that would be great. Love to all.

DAY 75
wow. I've been at this since the middle of June, and doing real well with the NoS. There were two days in a row last week, one time an apple mid afternoon because my stomach was so empty it hurt about three hours after lunch (a VERY light lunch) and one time at Costco munching on samples I suddenly remembered HELLO? Costco samples ARE between meal snacking.
So maybe I don't REALLY belong here because I flubbed a couple of times, but since I've been thru 21 days more than three times, and didn't post for 42 or 63...anyways, wishing the weight would start to fall away, feeling REALLY GOOD to be sane about food, and just starting today with yoga instead of shovelglove. I would walk every day as an urban ranger, but currently my ankle is healing and I want to let it rest a bit longer. Meanwhile, some yoga, and I plan on continuing that. I know it will be the best practice in my life, to keep me healthy and active longer, and I REALLY LIKE doing it. Once my ankle is good, I'll be out walking all the time. It is my favorite exercise, bar none.
Appetite still giving me grief more days than not and the scale hasn't budged. But this is permanent. I don't eat anything sugary anymore ever at all, not even on S days, and I am enjoying my fully functioning body, getting hungry before the next meal, and ME, not my STOMACH, being in charge. It's good!

kaali posting here reminded me to check my habitcal and sure enough, I've got 21 days in! My first was right at the beginning, no problem, but it took quite some time to get thru 21 green days again.
Meanwhile, like Kaalii, I'm delighted to have the mental sanity about food, and even my red days teach me things about myself.
yay No S!

I did it!!!
YEI!!!!
I did it.... 21 days straight!
I've got little weight to loose. I don't feel lighter, but I don't feel heavier either... but I definitely feel a much more sense of self control and freedom at the same time.
Still.. I'm really looking forward to see my numbers go down. Let's see what the scale shows me after a month of No S.

Oh I think I understand. By adding up all the green days, when you get to 21...nah, we want 21 green days in a row, with yellow in there as our S days. No red present.bunsofaluminum wrote:cancelled out?babybird wrote:Just to confirm the 21 day club is continuos N and S days with no reds?
Or is it 21 N and S days with the Red days cancelled out. Thanks.

Yay! a perfectly executed 21 days on plan! I flubbed several times in December, and made a fresh start on Jan 1...and here I am, on the 21st, posting a 21 day testimonial.
The major difference now, from where I started: I am finding that my eyes are too big for my stomach nine times out of 10. and yes, I am leaving food on my plate! Quite unusual behavior for me. But my stomach gets full and I don't want to get stuffed even with delicious favorites.
Today is an S day and I'll allow myself whatever I want, but breakfast is behind me (I left four or five bites of food on my plate...full!) and I'm having some chocolate but not hungry, not wanting anything else. WHAT a good feeling!

January 9, 2017 ~ January 29, 2017 = 21 days on habit. It feels mentally and physically good to be 21 days in. The habit is taking hold and it takes less willpower to follow the No S Diet now. I was listening to Reinhards podcast last night about Extreme Moderation. That is a powerful teaching. Thanks for everyone's encouragement.
If you're anything like me, small fails are still a success of sorts, because they don't become big fails. Keep at it!tracey0829 wrote:Merry- thanks for the encouragement! I need it. I have mostly small fails, but fails none the less.

Whoop 21 days completed yesterday, there are extra yellow days because it was my birthday just before Easter and over the Easter break I was away celebrating my sister's 50th but even with all that I've lost a little weight over the period

Thank you so much, auto! I enjoy reading your comments, it is so helpful to know someone else is reading and responding to what I write. Feels like I am being accountable to others which is why I am writing the check-ins in the first place, being accountable not just to myself but to others as well, if that makes sense.
