July Challenge

Post by Merry » Mon Jul 03, 2017 6:13 am

Thought I'd get us going! I need to keep checking in :-). Sorry my calendar is goofy & won't be the one you'll likely want to copy (my S days are Friday & Sunday), but I hope everyone has a great month!

So, is anyone doing anything special for the 4th? My Aunt and Uncle whom I haven't seen in years (they live across the country from us) are visiting--such a special treat!

Hope you have a lovely time Merry, sounds super! I am UK based so not a special day for me, that's probably a good thing, I don't need any excuses

Thanks! Yeah, I wondered after I asked how many are US based--I love our international flavor on this board!

It really was such a lovely day. I felt so blessed.

7/10 breakfast was a 'protein bar,' which is really just a glorified candy bar with a funny aftertaste; had glass of chocolate milk after dinner.

Hey everyone, how's July going for you?

I'm trying to slowly get back into some exercise...need to get back on track there!

Hi Merry. Food wise I am staying strong, exercise is not going so well. I am hoping that the arrival of the school holidays next week will give me more flexibility with time. Here's hoping I can make myself fit in a few exercise videos.

Hi Merry (and everyone else),

July has been going better than June food-wise. I started off well with exercise, but the last week it has fallen by the wayside because of crazy work hours. The scale is finally starting to shift downwards ever so slowly--I've been a litte more moderate with S-days. I am missing the exercise though and will get back to that next week. I did get some new clothes this month and was happy to be able to get a size smaller :D

you guys are doing awesome! Let's finish out the month strong!

And for anyone who's not having a good month--it's not too late to finish well with some green days even if the start didn't go well. Don't give up!

I told myself I was going to jump back in and start the July challenge But obviously I did not get started. I'm hoping to get back into the habit For August So that I will have some accountability. I haven't been doing habit calw or the monthly challenges because I thought that that pressure of marking red or green would be too much and that I needed a break, but it's definitely not working my way. Going to have to go back to vanilla and tracking. I've drifted too far away from the rules. Hopefully August will get me back in gear so I will be prepared for the holidays.

Hi MaggieMae,

I know what you mean: wanting to get away from tracking habit....but finding that it's a little too easy to drift when we don't (at least for chunks of time here and there). I'm finding the challenge easier than the habit cal right now. I like using the emoticons

Unfortunately, I find that even when I track I can get into a habit of a *small* drift

It's a learning process, but I agree with Reinhard that there is just enough guidance with the Rules, but not too much. Even with the embarrassing number of  days, I know that I am eating less, eating better and slowly getting back into better habits around food.
