Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

So I’m back, heavier than ever after stress eating my way through three Covid lockdowns. I’m feeling really unhealthy and I have two young girls so need to get a grip. I want to see them grow up after all.
So day one is an S day
However, I will track three categories and one of them will have no S days - that one is: self-care. I was hugely successful when I added that category a few years back so fingers crossed!

Yay to see you here! You made my day. I am super smiling.
Hang in there - weirdly enough at this point in the craziness I find myself finding the blessings in many, many little things. I think I MAY just emerge from COVID a wiser woman!
How are your little girls? What are their ages now?

taking time to move, getting out of the house, taking time to reset the house for the week.
I'm a bit nervous for tomorrow for my first N day back. No idea if I can stick to it and I know the first week is the hardest if memory serves me well in terms of actual physical discomfort (hunger etc). Although for me a few months in is hardest psychologically but I remember the first few days are bad too.

Alright so doing ok here.
First week I could only stick to movement and self-care but since then I’ve been sticking to vanilla NoS too.
I’ve watched What the Health and Game Changers and have now switched to 100% plant based for lent with the hope it will stick after that. It’s a bit labour intensive as we cook from scratch and there is a lot of experimenting at the moment to find new favourites but it’s also the best food I’ve eaten in a long time.
I’ll keep checking in here every few weeks!

So happy to see you back! I’m sure you’ve found a lot of good resources already but let me know if you need any recommendations on plant based cooking. I really love
Www.loveandlemons.com and
www.ohsheglows.com as well as
https://minimalistbaker.com/
Well I guess you got recommendations anyway!

btw, love and lemons isn’t 100% plant based but much of it is.
