Polly Ann

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Polly Ann

Can I just say: I love my hammer!

I don't think I've ever gotten strong so fast (just two weeks, but I can tell the difference).

Here's my shovelglove song (taken, of course, from the ballad of John Henry)

John Henry had a little woman,
Her name was Polly Ann,
When John Henry lay sick down on his bed,
Polly drove steel like a man
Polly drove steel like a man.

Congrats on the hammer. It is a great, fun form of exercise.

Here's a quote from more recent popular music culture...

Hammer time!

Nice! I didn't remember that verse....

Might be good to stick on the home page as an invitation to all womenfolk.

Keep on drivin that steel!
