2 years shovelgloving and new to the board

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

2 years shovelgloving and new to the board

Post by Jay » Sat May 30, 2009 7:31 pm

My name is Jay , i'm a construction worker and i've been shovelgloving on and off for the past 2 years. Took a 1 year break but i started again last month. I haven't loss too much strength since we use those kind of tools at my jobs but i had lost some stamina. I'm now back with my 20 pounds. I thought if i would do push-ups and squats, i 'd be in better shape, but you know what, since i began last month, my functionnal strength is much better and my stamina is better than ever. Co-worker are asking me if i'm taking pills or other thing :) Seriously, this workout is great, doesnt take too much time and is very effective and functionnal! Good job reinhard and thank you!

Welcome! And that's a nice little testament for shovelgloving. I'm starting with a mere 8 pounder... you're doing a 20?!? You're a beast!
