Dumb question: how do I reply to someone's reply?

I click on "Post reply" at the top (or bottom) of the screen, but then I have to fill in the subject line as though I'm starting a new topic.

Doesn't it know I'm replying within that topic?

Just leave it blank.

It is kind of stupid that they prompt you for this....

What it does if you put something is give your response a little (very little) subheader.
