sugar alcohols

Post by trouble » Tue Oct 14, 2008 2:47 am

So I follow the rules and have managed to cut sugar out of my diet almost completly except for my milk and any natural sugars (friut..). By doing this I come across these sugar alcohls almost every where it is "sugar free". So far in two months I've lost 10 lbs. But what I want to know is if these sugar alcohols are bad in the case of this diet. I know that they are tolerated by diabetics and therefore aren't "sugar". Do I need to stay away from them too??? :?

Well, I would unless I needed to use them.

Remember, this isn't "no sugar" -- it's "no sweets", no foods where the major source of calories is sugar (or HFCS), except sometimes, on days that start with S.

It sounds like you're doing great, trouble.

Keep your focus on the obvious excesses. You don't want to risk the progress you've made already going after subtle and dubious ones.
