No S & The Holidays
Hi all,
I am officially in the holiday spirit (a bit early, I know) and was wondering what kinds of holiday/seasonal favorites you all are working into your N days.
Mine:
*clementines (something is very holiday-ish about these to me)
*holiday flavored coffees and teas
*adding pumpkin to things - oatmeal, plain yogurt, etc.
*roasted veggies and potatoes
*goat cheese with cranberries - just bought this and it is heaven!
Also looking forward to Thanksgiving leftovers on future N days.

In our house, autumn and the holidays bring forth homemade sweet, spiced, and/or savory nuts: walnuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts. They are great added to cereal, salads, fruit salads, dried fruit trays, appetizers (try dried apricot, dab of blue cheese, chopped nuts), and more! All N day friendly!

Aye, the Holidays. I will eat anything that human kind can put on a plate, platter, dish, bowl (in), skewer, fork, spoon, knife, or throw at my mouth.
I think this time of year, along with "hoilday" eating, many of us start to eat more out of boredom due to Season Affective Disorder. The local news channel ran a blurb on it last week and stated that many sufferers of SAD beging to eat more.

Thanksgiving favorites
Turkey & stuffing with gravy! Turnips with gravy! Pumpkin pie! Lorelei: I'm glad you mentioned putting pumpkin in oatmeal. I adore both, and that sounds like a happy, festive combo! (No gravy on that or the pie, of course ...)

On N Days I will substitute my standard bread for bread with raisins and butter (I don't know if it is american too). And I like to top off my porridge with cinnamon & sugar
