I'm Back!

Post by kwidener7 » Wed May 23, 2012 5:26 pm

After almost completely falling off the bandwagon and gaining 70+ pounds during my pregnancy, I'm ready to come back! Hormones are a major, MAJOR issue for me when it comes to food. Not to mention the emotional factors involved in being pregnant and dealing with how others suddenly see you as incapable, being unable to do things you used to (shave, cut your toenails, etc.), and just the overwhelming mix of emotions!

I hope I've learned something and I can prevent becoming a whale with my next baby. I only say whale because I honestly felt like a giant, beached sea mammal by the end! I didn't look that bad at all.

But since I'm still breastfeeding I feel like Vanilla No S is all I can handle right now. Before I got pregnant I was fasting intermittently and having 4 floating S events during the week. I don't want to chance my milk supply since I plan on nursing well past his first year.

So, thanks for listening!

Congratulations on your baby and on breastfeeding :).

I put on a lot of weight when I was pregnant, but it all came off (and more) without adjusting my diet. I don't know if that was because I was breastfeeding. I don't think No S would have suited me then as I was feeding night and day. I think I'd have found it difficult to get enough calories in.

I think it's great that you're planning on nursing past the first year. I did, and it was great!

Glad you're back and wanting to learn moderation for now and later.

Eat generously of high quality foods at discrete meals, maybe more than three but no more than you are truly hungry for, and let nature burn what it needs.

And congratulations!
