Newbie too with a blog
I'm a newbie too. I've been reading posts & doing No S for about a couple of months. I started a blog because I've been so happy with the results I feel like others should find this plan!! It's not a miracle diet or a quick fix but it's a way of life that you can stick with & that doesn't alter anything else about your life. My family loves what we are eating. I can eat anything that they want to & have been making much better dinners without trying to make a meal that fits into some set of diet rules. If you want to check out my blog here it is:

It's a bit of a work in progress but it's fun to write about how amazing it feels to eat like this!!

I just checked out your blog. I love it! It's inspiring me to carry on with NoS. I've been at it since November, but still haven't gotten the habits down completely. My favorite thing about NoS is that when I eat out with friends or family, no one knows I'm on a "diet". It does make me eat better. I try to eat a serving of fruit with each meal, and vegetable with lunch and dinner. It doesn't always work out, but I try. I just need to stick with it and stop going back to the calorie counting trap.
Thanks for checking it out!! Calorie counting is a hard one to give up. I have done it for so long that my brain is like a database of nutritional values for all sorts of things (: But seeing as it's never been a long term fix for me, I'm guessing that it doesn't really work.
The one thing that has been hard for me is it's been slower weight loss. After the first month I wasn't consistantly weight myself but didn't feel I made much progress. I looked at what I was doing & although I was technically doing it right, my portions were probably a little bigger then they needed to be. I was taking advantage of my new found freedom (: I'm sure I could make my N days a litle more "N"ishy & make it go a little faster but my goal is to do it in a way that it stays off so for me I need to do it without making myself miserable. This time, although it's slow, I try to look at that as a positive because by doing it the right way I can keep it permanently off (:

I LOVE YOUR BLOG! Great job, and it was fun to read your insights. I love the No Seconds Mentality of weekends too, great idea. I just recently started a No S blog too, so it's funny you post this.
I've had a rough couple days, actually I've had more fails this month than I've ever had, so it's nice to read something so uplifting like your blog!

This board has a place to post blogs, too. Apparently a lot of them are from the past. You new one would be a welcome addition, in case you want to link it there, too.

I've mostly "blogged" on my check in thread here and on thousands of posts on the Living Binge Free (all six years of No S) and No S Diet teams on Sparkpeople.com. But it takes discipline to ignore most of the diet hype there.
