Betty's Check In

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Betty's Check In

Post by Betty » Thu Jun 21, 2007 2:49 pm

It seems like no one posts their weight here, but I'd like to have a place to record it to hopefully see my progress (to 56 kgs). So here goes:

On June 16 I began NoS. My weight was 62.5 kgs.

I'll post again at the end of june, and then at the end of every month.

July 1st: 61 Kg

(down 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) in 2 Weeks.)

But now I have to really remind myself to "fence around the law" Visiting chocoholic relatives eating away at my resolve. A few days of little nibbles, not enough to constitute a failure, but pretty darn close.

Watch it, girl!

Long break-- starting again.

Week 1: started at 138 lbs, the highest ever.

had 2 failures, one was minor (started getting lightheaded during a walk and tried to find a store with some milk but couldn't so I had an energy bar from a drug store)

Second failure was major: will power just crumbled.

After one week I'm at 136.5 lbs, down 1.5 lbs.

Hey Betty!

I like to post my weight here too. I notice we are around the same...I'm 132.5 lbs right now. How tall are you? I'm 5'2 and looking to eventually get to around 115-120 lbs.

I have major willpower problems. But I know that No S is the best choice because it's teaching me how to use will power to my advantage.
