Medical tests?
Has anyone got a comparison of medical tests before and after No-S (or Urban Rangering or ShovelGlove)?
I'm thinking of blood pressure readings, blood tests for cholesterol & triglycerides, or anything else like that.
I know Kevin has seen improvements in his blood sugar since starting, which is really terrific. Anyone else had an improvement?

Medical tests? Yeah, after No-S-ing, I totally ACED my MCATs!
Oh wait, that's not what you meant...
Yeah, where I noticed it most was cholesterol and blood pressure. They went WAY down (and into the "normal" ranges) after I lost about 10 lbs. They've stayed relatively consistent since... it's as if there's some threshhold of fat that above which, my body just can't handle.
The HDL to LDL ratio has been improving too but much more slowly. My HDL is still a little low.

Well, I might have something like that in 2 weeks. I go in for my tests on Fri, and then have a follow-up physical consult with my doc next Fri. So I'll be able to compare those results with the results from a year ago, though there was at least 8 or 9 months of variable behaviour between the last battery of tests and when I officially started my No-S/Shugg/Squat program.

I always had good numbers, even when I was way overweight. Indeed, it was one of my excuses for being overweight. See, even good genes can make you fat!
I am curious about other people's experience, since I imagine I'm somewhat anomalous in this regard. The number crash was one of the big shockers of "Supersize me." Would be nice to see the reverse here. Kevin's experience has been very encouraging.

Well, I just had my consultation with my doctor today. My numbers look great, the best he's ever seen them! I'm at my lowest weight by 13 pounds since I've ever seen him (341), my cholesterol is 160, my "good cholesterol" is on the low side of normal (could be a bit higher, but nothing to worry about).
2 years ago there was some concern about my liver numbers. He wanted further testing, but I was too fat to fit in the hospital's machine (MRI); they had a 350 pound limit. So now, I could have that test done, but the numbers don't call for it. Last year's numbers were good, and this years were even better.
For the first time ever, my doctor looked at me and said, "I'm happy!" You have to understand: my doctor is quite knowledgeable, he's a pulmonary specialist which is good given all me breathing issues. I completely respect him, his impact on my physical being is huge between asthma medication and my CPAP machine for sleep apnea. But his bedside manner is quite curt, to put it mildly. He has a very Sagittarian way about him, direct and to the point. Point is, he's never said that to me before. He says he doesn't need to see me for 2 more years (he's insisted on annual physicals, if not every 6 months since I started seeing him 7 years ago).
I think I'm going to ask my doctor to send me a copy of the test results, just so I have them on file.
