Cracked Wheat?

Post by Over43 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 1:36 am

Breakfast is a bummer for me. I don't like cereal, I really disclike oatmeal, and Cream of Wheat gives me indigestion. So, usually, it's three eggs and 2 slices of bacon with some juice and a slice of toast.

I did discover cracked wheat last week, and it takes ten minutes to cook, but has a better consistancy than oatmeal. (I think.)

Anyway, I think I've found a breakfast cereal I can live with, plus unlike a box of Wheaties, or Total, it is fairly reasonable to purchase at the store.

How's the cracked wheat going?

Just a thought for you... when I was a teen who hated breakfast food but had a mom who insisted I eat in the morning, I decided that anything that was fine other times of the day was great for breakfast too. So, I would eat chili, pizza, etc.

Though it was really an act of rebellion, the rationale is sound enough. What do you like other times of day that would be easy to eat for breakfast?

I think that is similar to bulgar.
We love it..
I've prepared it with water, some butter or olive and oil and salt and pepper.
I also like to add some pineapple chunks to it but my husband likes his with tomatoes.
To each is own.
It's good cold too like a grain salad.
