No S Is Good Stuff

Post by rocket26 » Sat May 09, 2009 4:42 pm

This is the first time I've ever really tried to "diet" because I've wanted to loose weight, though I've done lots of short term cleanses and done different things for health purposes over the years vegan, lo carb, exercising, etc. I haven't stuck with any (except moderate exercise).

The past winter though I just went on a rampage of junk eating. I would still eat a lot of homecooked meals, but just overeating, lots of deserts, snacking at work, feeling bloated. I think my metabolism may have slowed down over the past couple years too.

Anyway, I went on a 3 day juice fast a few weeks ago and then transitioned into No S-. Though I'm not super overweight, I was feeling bloated and cranky a lot, due to a lot of sugar and snacking.

I haven't been following No S super religiously- I don't have any excuses, just needed to take it slow. But I do think its working. I still eat a little bit of dark chocolate during the week, some red wine, but I'm not snacking hardly at all. I'm also eating a big salad almost every day and that just makes me feel healthier. I'm still eating pizza, breakfast meat, chips, cheese etc, but just a little bit with meals. Spring is also a great time anyway to eat a bit lighter.

The bloating is gone and my pants are already fitting better. Also as a perk my skin feels like its cleared up, probably from less sugar. So I just want to say I think this is a very sane way to go if you want to "diet".

Also, you should check out this new book "The End of Overeating" which I've been reading along with No S. Has lots of relevant information.

Thanks! I'll keep you posted. (sorry I don't know how to add a link, but if you cut and paste the article is really good.)

Welcome, Rocket26! Glad you think so.
