First week all green!

Post by QuercusMax » Sat Dec 12, 2009 3:00 am

I just finished my first week of No-S and Shovelglove. All five weekdays have been green both programs. :D :D :D I've already lost 5 pounds, too!

No-S hasn't been too difficult so far, although I haven't been super hungry due to having a cold this week. It seems like *not* snacking makes me less hungry in the afternoon, paradoxically enough.

I came pretty close to missing a couple days on Shovelglove, from being so $@&# congested from this cold, but I made it up in the evening.

I'm not quite sure what to expect from my two S-days coming up... I don't plan to go super crazy or anything, although I am going to a Christmas party tomorrow night. Usually I can't eat any of the really yummy stuff, though, since I have an allergy to eggs, which makes it easy to say no to cakes/cookies and the like. (I get really bad migraines, which tend to be quite convincing.)

I'll report back on how my weekend goes.... so far, this diet thing has been pretty easy, and doesn't require a lot of mental effort. I really like the fact that I don't have to track anything - just eat three meals, and that's it. Makes it really really easy to avoid those snacks at work.

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your S days, which I think is the key to the sustainability of No S.

I'm more hungry on the days when I eat a "good" breakfast than if I eat a very light one or none at all. It's almost like I can't shovel the food in fast enough when I start the day with a bigger breakfast.

Congratulations on your success!

Well, I survived the weekend... it ended up being a bit more exciting than planned for. Our 2-year-old broke his foot Friday night (long story, it's just a buckle fracture, but he'll need a cast for a couple weeks), so he and I stayed at home all day Saturday, and missed the birthday party in the morning. (My wife took our two older kids.)

I didn't go super-crazy overboard, except at the party in the evening - I didn't know until we were leaving that it was going to be hosted by our Brazilian friends who always have amazingly good stuff. I ate way too much, and ended up with indigestion during the night. (I don't digest beef very well, and there was a lot of it there.)

Other than that, not too bad... in the future, I definitely plan on limiting the number of S's per S day to something reasonable. I ate a ridiculous number of Clementines, but other than that, nothing too crazy. Tomorrow, back on the weekday train....

Sorry about your son... hope he recovers quickly and completely.

Congratulations on your first week of green! And go easy on yourself -- even a ridiculous number of clementines doesn't sound that bad.
