Procrastineating

Post by cescadarling » Thu Apr 22, 2010 6:16 am

i have been doing no s for about a week now, and i have realized how much time i spent snacking before... in order to avoid/put off/ignore... pretty much everything from cleaning to organizing to exercising to drawing and writing. not snacking and obsessing about food really frees up a lot of time. i have come up with a name for this snacking-in-order-to-avoid-life syndrome. it is called Procrastineating.
i would rather be happy than right.

LOVE that - and yes, I used to do exactly that. I'd eat from dinner to late in the evening because I was tired and didn't want to clean the kitchen, organize for the morning, etc.

There are better ways to relax. And if I just do the dang chores, I usually have a little guilt-free downtime afterwards.

That is brilliant -- home page level brilliant, if you don't mind me quoting you.

Hey, give yourself credit! We were all that busy at one time, but still didn't come up with the term when we quit eating so much. A lot of people before Newton had things drop on their heads, but they didn't come up with the idea of gravity.

For now, I've replaced my eating with reading weight loss sites and posting. So now I'm postcrastinating? Not nearly as smooth.
