First week on the No S diet almost over

Post by July2010 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 9:06 pm

So tomorrow will end my first week. I've done pretty good for it being my first week. I kinda over filled some of my plates, but nothing drastic. I didn't eat between meals. Today is my first S day and I started out the day planning to not make this an S day, but ended up allowing myself a small snowcone and some doritos. I feel guilty about it, even though I know I shouldn't. But, then again I am following the book that almost demands I take an S day. So, I have. I just plan to not go crazy and not allow myself any more snacks. Maybe 1 snack for each S day. Trying not to stress over it. I plan to do better this coming week and maybe look into starting some type of exercise program or something. I may of lost 1 pound this week. So, not too bad. I think if I can tighten up a bit more with my food choices and add some exercise, I'll do better.

Congrats on your week. Remember that in the first several weeks (even months) weight loss is not the measure of success. So when you say you'll do better next week, I hope you mean you'll see if you can be happy and satisfied with plates that aren't overflowing, and you'll try to get out of the mentality that you feel guilty for eating a snowcone and some Doritoes. If you believe you are going to want to eat a snowcone and Doritoes in moderate quantities for the rest of your life, then you might as well start now, even if it turns out you want them only a few times or month, or eventually, even less.

Yes, I am planning to cut back a bit on the amount on my plate and see if I can get away with eatting less. I did really good today. I actually weighed myself today which is the start of a new week and I lost 2 pds total since I started. It is getting a bit easier as far as hunger goes. I am learning that I'll be okay feeling hunger for another hour and it does go away. When I ate lunch at 2..I started to feel really hungry around 4 and planned to eat dinner at 6 and I got busy with stuff and before I realized it, it was 6:30 and I wasn't even hungry. But, I ate a small salad and some ham with potatos because I didn't want to eat too late. Feeling hungry isn't bothering me so much as it did at first. I am seeing that I may feel a bit hungry at the moment, but it'll pass and I can make it till the next meal. It's feeling easier to continue and it's not so hard anymore and it's so nice not to have to count calories or think about food all the time!! And I don't even miss the junkfood I used to live on! I'm just amazed that this just gets better and better! For the first time I see that this is something I can actually do long term unlike most other diets out there!
