Reinhard,
The thread ISO Brits got me thinking about the board stats.
About how many people are visiting this board? Where do their IP addresses indicate they are from?
And... I know I have to proceed carefully here lest you violate any contractual obligations... are the ads pretty much covering the costs of the site? IIRC, Google's Adsense program did not allow ad hosts to specifically tell site users to click through the ads on that site ... or something like that. It's been a while since I looked at the agreements.
Anyway, just curious. Great site. Keep up the good work. I recommend No S all over the place.
Curious about board stats

Hi Blithe,
I theoretically know all this stuff (thanks to google analytics and even just the raw http logs) -- but I've long since tired of poring over them.
But here's a sampling of the last month's worth of data, just for kicks:
32,583 "visits" to all everydaysystems sites
Unique visitors are broken down by site, so I can't give a "global" number. No-s and everyday systems each had about 5000, shovelglove 3500.
In terms of geography, about 70% of visitors to everydaysystems.com are from the United States. Canada and the UK are more or less tied for second place, with about 15% between them. The remaining 15% come from every continent (except perhaps Antarctica, which google analytics doesn't map). It looks like this ratio more or less holds for the other sites as well.
The ads bring in enough to cover the modest costs of running the site. The only thing that's not quite covered is my "legal armor" (the annual LLC fees and the bill I get every time my lawyer thinks about me, which is thankfully very infrequently these days). But a lawyer friend of mine is helping me think of ways to reduce these so hopefully even they will be paid for by 2012.
