The Best Foods and Strategies for Eating at Your Computer
Do I ever eat at my computer? I'm self employed in the computer business, what do you think?
I think it's about time to stop that, that's what I think.
This article really hit me at how unutterably lame it is not to take a confounded 15-20 minutes away from my computer a couple of times a day to eat a meal. (I eat dinner with my family most nights.) Too busy? Friends, I'm self-employed. It's illegal to make someone work as hard for you as you'll work for yourself to make a living. If I'm working too much to take time away from my desk long enough to eat, I'm either fooling myself about how hard I'm actually working, or I'd better be doubling my husband-with-a-Real-Job's salary. (Hint: I'm not earning twice what The Prince does.)
I know that eating at one's desk is strictly No-S legal, and yes, we all do it. But for myself, I think I like the idea of more boundaries around eating in the spirit of the No-S concept. (I am going to allow myself to read fiction at the table if I'm eating alone, mind, so this isn't as strict as all THAT).

I totally agree with that concept,
and for a long time I've been following a rule not to eat in front of the computer.

Most days, I end up eating lunch at my desk at work. I've made it an intentional thing to lock my computer, and scoot my chair down to the end of the desk to eat. This makes it really hard to work through lunch! I usually grab a book to read, to make sure I take at least 30-60 minutes for lunch break.
